About Cascade King Shepherds
Who We Are
Scott Hansen, former owner of King Shepherds of Warwick and Julie Gordon, former owner of JolieHaus King Shepherds have decided to join forces merging kennels becoming Cascade King Shepherds. Scott and Julie have always worked closely together learning as much as they can about these majestic dogs. Mentoring with other long-time breeders, studying the history of the breed, genetics, showing dogs, and building a database of dogs going back to the beginning of the King Shepherd.
Scott Hansen
Scott has owned German Shepherds and German shepherd mixes most of his life. Scott got his first King Shepherd in 2018. Scott fell in love with the breed and became active in a King Shepherd Club. Scott works closely with other breeders educating himself on all areas of breeding and showing these wonderful dogs. Scott lives in New York with his two King Shepherds and two Shiloh Shepherds.
Julie Gordon
Julie lives in New Jersey with her six King Shepherds. Having owned German Shepherds for the better part of her life. She got her first King Shepherd in 2013 and was hooked, fascinated with the mellow temperament, good looks and gentleness with children and other animals. Julie started researching the King and got involved with showing and studying genetics.

All dogs at Cascade Kings are a part of the family and live in our home with us. We believe health and temperament are of the upmost importance and all our dogs are health tested including hips, elbows, heart and DNA through Embark Vet.

What is a King Shepherd?

A King Shepherd is a breed still in development that resembles a large over-sized German Shepherd without the severe rear angulation, possesses thick, dense bone and a shorter, wider muzzle with an impressive head and calmer temperament and has less health problems than German Shepherds. The King Shepherd is an intelligent, gentle dog with a lower drive, yet still protective of family that excels at all type of work.
The breeds used in the development of The King Shepherd are European German Shepherds, Shiloh Shepherds (another rare breed dog), Alaskan Malamutes, and Akita's.
